Connecting With Your Spiritual Side

Whether you believe in a higher power or not, everyone has a spiritual side. Even if it’s just connecting with your own body and inner thoughts, it’s important to work on and continue to tune in with your spiritual side. Today we’re going to be sharing some basic ideas on how to connect with your spiritual side.

Meditate

When connecting with your soul, subconscious, and inner thoughts, meditation can be really helpful. It allows you to relax, while also helping you feel more grounded and connected to reality. If you like to pray, you can also incorporate prayer into your meditation.

Here are some quick ways to get started with meditation. First, you want to make sure that the space you’ll be meditating in is free from distractions. The more comfortable, the better! Sit or lay down in a comfortable position that you’ll be able to maintain for extended periods of time. Then, focus on your breathing. Try to allow thoughts to flow without recognition. If it helps, think of a balloon inflating with each inhale, and gently deflating with the exhale.

TALK WITH OTHERS

Another great way to connect with your spiritual side is by having conversations with others of all different religions. Remember to stay kind and respectful as you talk. Everyone believes what they do for a reason! But, talking about spiritual matters with others may help you think of things you never have before which could be greatly beneficial as you try to connect with your spiritual side. It also allows you to keep an open mind and heart regarding the way others live.

Tips and Tricks

Here are some additional tips to help you connect with your spiritual side. Remember, start with baby steps!

  • Try burning incense when meditating for a grounding and inspirational atmosphere.
  •  Try to spend some time each week reading your favorite spiritual text. If you don’t have any, read a self-help or non-fiction book.
  • Learning about other religions is a great way to connect with your spiritual side. Connect with others or do some reading.
