WARM WEATHER WORKOUT ROUTINE
It’s starting to get warmer outside, which means things are changing! The days are longer, we need to adjust our wardrobes, but there may be a change you haven’t thought of. Sometimes, your workout routine needs to change with the season! Today we’ll be talking about changing your workout routine in warmer weather and why it’s important.
VARIETY IS THE SPICE OF LIFE
Regardless of changing seasons, it’s important to switch up your routine from time to time. Even if it’s just once, breaking up your routine is great for your body and mind. When you do the same workout over and over again, your body may get used to that routine and stop improving. That’s why it’s important to change things, even if it’s just the amount of time you do an exercise, or how much weight you lift.
Knowing that we should adjust our routine more often than not, the change of the seasons is a great time to do that! The frequency is up to you, just be sure to make that effort every once in a while.
Warmer weather brings new opportunities. Take advantage of them! Move your workout routine outdoors by running, biking, hiking, swimming, anything you can find to do. The great thing about exercising outdoors, is that the air is fresher, you have more room, and the warmer weather helps you break more of a sweat. Get creative! There’s so much you can do outside, even if it’s just in your backyard. It’s important to experience life in all its forms. What have you been wanting to do?
Even though a lot of safety tips apply to working out all the time, there’s a few things you should pay careful attention to in warmer weather:
- Wear sunscreen every time you go outside! Reapply often, especially when you’re sweating a lot. Waterproof versions are also available if you find that you’re reapplying often.
- Hydration is key to preventing heat stroke. Drink lots of water before, during, and after your workout. Use a sports recovery drink like Fun to get lost electrolytes back.
- If you’re venturing into more remote areas of the earth to workout, be sure that someone goes with you or knows where you are. Even just a casual hiking trail can become dangerous if we’re not careful.
- Make sure that your body has the energy it needs by eating enough protein, fruits, and vegetables an hour before your workout.
