Falling is Not Failing

It’s Week Three of the Better Body Resolution, and we’ve seen some incredible things from you, Yoli Nation. But what if you’ve gotten off track? What if you started out excited and determined, and then somewhere along the way, you found yourself slipping? Does that make you a failure?

The answer is no. Not even a little bit. Everyone falls down from time to time. As long as you pick yourself up, you haven’t failed. No matter how off track you are, you can get back on the Better Body System and continue your journey to optimal health. Try these tips to get back on track, and don’t be afraid to reach out to your support system for help!

Leave the All-or-Nothing Mentality Behind You

A lot of people think that if they have one treat, the whole day is ruined and they might as well forget about eating healthy for the rest of the day. But one snack doesn’t ruin a day, one day doesn’t ruin a week, and one week doesn’t ruin a month. You can’t go back and change your decision, but you can focus on what you’ll do in the future. If you get off track, don’t let it derail you completely! Just get back on track as soon as you can.

Reconsider Your Why

If you’ve gotten off track, spend some time thinking about the reasons you want to transform your life. If your why was important enough to motivate you to start with the Better Body System, it will be important enough to motivate you to get back on track. Remember, as long as you’re putting in the effort, you’re working toward your goals. It doesn’t matter how fast you get there—just keep moving!

Ask Yourself Why You Got Off Track

If you don’t address the reasons that you got off track, you’ll just find yourself repeating your mistakes. If you stepped away from the BBS because your child made cookies, you’re probably fine. But if stress or boredom pushed you to eat something when you weren’t really hungry, you may be using food as a coping mechanism.

Recognizing the emotional state that pushes you to eat can help you avoid getting off track. Once you know what triggers your emotional eating, you can find more constructive ways to cope with your emotional state. Click here for more information about combating emotional eating.

We believe in you, and we want to see you succeed. You have the full support of Yoli Nation behind you, and a few slip-ups won’t define your journey. If you feel like you’ve fallen down, just pick yourself up and keep moving forward. We can’t wait to see what you’ll accomplish!
