Congratulations to everyone who participated in Get Slim for Summer with us! It was an incredible eight weeks, and we loved seeing so many of you transform your lives. If you’re looking for ways to maintain the progress that you’ve made, you’re in luck. Here are three tips to stay slim for summer!
Set New Goals
If you’ve reached the goals you set at the beginning of Get Slim for Summer, congratulations! Now it’s time to set some new goals to continue working toward optimal health.
Having new goals in mind is a great way to stay motivated to maintain the progress you’ve made so far. If you haven’t reached your goal weight, continue to work toward that. If you have, don’t be afraid to branch out as you set new goals. For example, you could set a fitness-related goal, such as learning a new sport or training to run your first 5K. You could set a goal to cook a healthy meal for yourself a few times a week or to make fewer stops at fast-food restaurants. You could even try to get more hours of sleep each night. Whatever you want to work toward, set your goals today and get started!
Plan Your Indulgences
Finding a balance between healthy eating and enjoying the occasional indulgence can be a little tricky. You don’t want to deny yourself of your favorite treats, but you also don’t want to go overboard and sabotage the results you worked so hard for. That’s why we recommend planning your indulgences in advance!
Planning your indulgences in advance is helpful for a couple of reasons. First, it’s easier to stay motivated to make healthy choices when you know that you can enjoy your favorite treats in the near future. Second, it helps you save your indulgences for things that you truly enjoy rather than just grabbing something because it’s in front of you. By planning your indulgences in advance, you can continue working toward optimal health and stay slim for summer!
Exercise is a great way to maintain your results and stay slim for summer. Combined with a healthy, nutritious diet, physical activity is a powerful tool for weight management. Experts recommend doing between 75 and 150 minutes of moderate physical activity each week, so we encourage you to get moving!
Now that the weather is nicer, there are a lot of fun ways to be physically active outdoors. You could go for a run, hike, bike, pick up a new sport, or even toss a ball around with your kids. If you’re more of an indoors person, you could try a new exercise class, hit the gym, or try out a new exercise DVD. The most important thing is to find an activity you enjoy so you’ll continue to do it consistently!
