Planning is a key part of reaching your goals, and today, we’re going to show you how you can plan your way to success!
Knowing exactly what you’re working to accomplish is absolutely vital to success. Let’s start by looking at your long-term goals, the ones that represent where you want to be down the road. These goals should be realistic but challenging, and they should make you feel excited when you think about reaching them. For example, your long-term goal could be something that focuses on your physical health, such as losing fifty pounds or running your first 5K race, or it could be something related to your career or your Yoli business, such as getting a promotion at your current job or reaching the rank of Yoli Diamond.
Once you know what your long-term goals are, write them down! The simple act of writing down your goals makes you more likely to reach them, so write down what you want to accomplish and keep it somewhere you can see it on a regular basis.
Now split your long-term goals into smaller, short-term goals. This is going to help your long-term goals seem more reachable, and the small victories you’ll experience as you reach your short-term goals will keep you motivated to continue.
Let’s take a quick look at the examples of long-term goals we listed above and short-term goals that could help you reach them:
- If your goal is to lose a significant amount of weight, your short term goals could be to lose five pounds, then ten, then fifteen, and so on, or you could set goals to give up soda or cut out junk food for a few weeks at a time.
- If you want to run a 5K, you could set short-term goals of running for five minutes at a time, then ten minutes, and so on.
- If you want a promotion at work, look at what it will take to get there and set your goals accordingly, such as increasing your productivity every week.
- If you want to reach Yoli Diamond, your short-term goals could be strictly rank-related, such as reaching Ruby, then reaching Emerald, and so on. You could also focus on building consistent habits, such as hitting 5-Star Gold every week, hosting three Better Body Parties per week, or spending twenty minutes focusing on self-development every day.
Your short-term goals are up to you, so just make sure that they’re going to keep you motivated and will help you reach your long-term goal. Once you have your long-term and your short-term goals planned out, the only thing left to do is get to work!
